(Photo) Shooting Blanks
Okcoolsobasically – it’s Monday. This means that it’s time for my blog again, unluckily for you. However, there is a bright side! We have actually been doing some cool crap for a little while, and I’m about to share this crap. With you.
Blessed hey?
Alrighty, the first biggie (at least in MY opinion) is my new acoustic guitar. It’s flipping gorgeous. I sifted through around 15 guitars before this baby landed on my lap and scored a comfortable pozzie in my heart. It’s a Tanglewood, I’ll give you that much. I will be playing live shows with it, and it’s featured in the new photos Robin Taylor is finishing up for us. Keep an eye out, and you can definitely expect some acoustic tracks in the near future.
Obviously the serious biggies at the moment are the new tracks going on the First And Foremost EP. Rous is going in today to put some finishing touches on the bass, and we’ll start layering guitars this week. We have some mad plans for guitars. Very. Very. Excited.
I’d like to reiterate a point Jason made in the last blog. Drums and bass in the Neve was chaos. Ous were frustrated, ous had hissy fits, Keni smoked a pack of cigarettes, I told ous to relax, ous didn’t relax. It was emotional. It got better, I went to work for a few hours and when I came back ous had finished up like, 4 tracks. The next few were also just as intense. You could feel the tension in the recordings, so we’re amped to hear the final product, because it currently lacks Dizz and Tizz’s input.
One of the songs you all already know has grown a lot, and I’m SERIOUSLY keen to hear all of your feedback. The brand new tracks are also starting to take us in a new direction in terms of material, so when we release this stuff, don’t hold back. Whether you’re throwing roses or bricks, I’d like to be hit in the face please.
On Friday, we managed to steal some time from our busy photography prodigy, Robin Taylor, and we did a photo shoot (which does happen to be two words, Jason, and “don’t” has an apostrophe in it, just saying.). I must say, it’s pretty inspirational to work with someone as naturally talented in his field as Robin, so I would suggest you take a look at his crap, he also shares it in a blog. I’ll post a link at the end of this crappy one 🙂
We did a few scenes at various locations, including two of the rooms at Sugarhut Club in Town, The Glen in Camps Bay, and at Nick and Jason’s places. Keep a good look out, they’ll probably be quite exclusive to this page.
So here are a couple of them: D
I personally think Rous should start modelling for L’Oréal, don’t you?

I’ll leave you with some wise words by Mac Miller,
“Nikes on my feet keep my cipher complete,
Nike, Nike, Nike, Nike, Nike, Nike, Nike, Nike, Nikes”
Word to your mother.
